A restaurant attached to an English vineyard is normally best approached with caution, rather like a bottle of English wine. Sure, you'd try it, just to be polite, but let's be honest, wouldn't something French or Italian just be so much better? But put aside those preconceptions, because here we are in Wickham Vineyard, near Southampton, on a gorgeous sunny afternoon, and it's wonderful. Not only is the wine – a flinty, Germanic little number called Wickham Dry – going down a treat, but we're loving the room, a high-ceilinged, discreetly stylish affair somewhere between a chapel and the world's smartest barn conversion.

MobUI, a company founded by former Action Engine employees, has decided to buy the assets of its former employer to create applications and mobile Web experiences on new mobile platforms, such as the iPhone and Android. Before Action Engine started having issues, John Burry left the company to start MobUI with the mission to help media companies quickly build apps and mobile experiences on even newer platforms, such as the iPhone. Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds TSB and HBOS agreed to scrap dividend payments in exchange for a government rescue package of £37bn. RBS is to get £20bn of government money and could end up with the government owning 60% of the bank. Lloyds TSB and HBOS wil raise £17bn from the government. Zmanda, of Sunnyvale, Calif. announced Zmanda Recovery Manager Enterprise Version 3.0 for MySQL and Zmanda Internet Backup (ZIB). ZRM 3.0 is the first Windows edition of Zmanda's recovery solution for MySQL. It offers hot backups of live MySQL databases on Windows, leveraging both Windows Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) snapshots and database restore using ZRM???s built-in point-in-time recovery capability, the company said.
